Conference Theme:
"I’s for the Prize - Inquiry, Integration and Ingenuity"
The 2017 Annual MCSS conference will be held in west Michigan this year at the Kent County ISD near Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are excited to bring the conference back to the spring and also to return to the western side of the state since it has been nearly a decade since the event was held there.
What we can promise is the conference will be filled with information, ideas, collaborations with peers, and the opportunity to share with fellow social studies colleagues.
Each Social Studies content organization will be represented and providing sessions at the conference:
Michigan Geographic Alliance
Michigan Council for History Education
Michigan Council on Economic Education
Center for Civic Education
Michigan Council for the Social Studies
Topics such as an update on new Social Studies content expectations, the C3, and current happenings in the world of social studies will be presented.
There will be sessions for every level from elementary, middle level, secondary, post-secondary and Social Studies supervisors.
