The importance of developing content knowledge and inquiry-driven approaches to learning, while also building literacy skills and preparing all students for engaged citizenship in the 21st century is stronger than ever. This lively one-day training will provide elementary teachers with instructional strategies, sample lessons and practices to utilize the document-based ques-tion approach to inspire great teaching and learning while meeting the goals stressed in both The C3 Framework and Michi-gan’s Revised Social Studies Standards.
Imali Kent of The DBQ Project will provide practical, hands-on experience with materials specifically designed to match both sets of standards.
