Indigenous history has a direct impact on the people and history of Michigan, yet it is one of the most omitted and inaccurately told stories. Honestly telling the story of the Anishnaabek, and other tribes in the United States, is difficult yet necessary to explain where we are as a people today. This conversation will look at some of the challenging facts of native history and offer guidance on bringing this information into the classroom.
