This session will provide K-8 teachers with a step by step approach for creating inquiry based lessons. I will use a lesson plan titled "Alvord County? Why Not?" to demonstrate the process. This lesson will allow the participants to determine how many counties in the United States and Michigan are named in honor of Women, and which Michigan county, if any, should be changed to honor women's rights activist Edith Vosburgh Alvord.
